Harper Lee’s publishers just announced that she will release a new book, something that so far had seemed very unlikely. The new book is called “Go Set a Watchman” and will be a sequel to Lee’s other book “To Kill a Mockingbird.” The sequel will be about Scout’s return home after 23 years after the events of it’s predecessor. Sequels to great books can be well received but the majority have had much less success than the first books, so it is unlikely that Lee’s book will meet expectations.
- 55 years after the iconic ‘To Kill a Mockingbird,” HarperCollins publishing has announced the launch of a sequel.
- ‘Go Get a Watchman’ returns Mockingbird protagonist, Scout Finch, to Alabama, 20 years later, as an adult.
- ‘Watchman,’ which was actually written first, was originally lost, but resurfaced last autumn.
“Harper Lee could publish a book about absolutely anything and thousands would still buy it.”
