Loss and Grief, Channeled Through a Book Club

Anne Gisleson decided that she was going to start a book club in her hometown of New Orleans. She attracted a wide variety of characters who were young, old, and had a variety of tastes in books. Through their monthly meetings and book choices, you get to see how the characters think about the world and the crises that they are personally going through. Gisleson is the main person to focus on, as her personal grief surrounding the death of sisters and her father take her grief to incredible depths. This sadness gets brought out through the book club and you see how she handles and shares about her personal tragedies.
