I was able to interview Knausgaard in a mostly private and intimate setting finally. This was a far cry from how I originally met this man, at a crowded book signing. We spoke for quiet some time about several of his books, his daughter, his adventures in fatherhood, his writing process, his ideas, his influences, his writing process, and even where he likes to call home. We also discussed, in depth, some of the other authors that have made an impact on not only his writing, but also his life.
Key Takeaways:
- The author was able to pack auditorium and present a sense of awe to the crowd.
- Latest book is about writer’s block, which the author attributed more to useable ideas instead of a lack of ideas
- Most recent novel is called Autumn, written for his daughter and contains illustration
“‘I want to show you our world as it is now: the door, the floor, the water tap and the sink, the garden chair close to the wall beneath the kitchen window, the sun, the water, the trees,’ Knausgaard writes.”
